Hi Fishel,
My name's Travis Nischuk, and I'm a Grade 6 CNCM student of Greg Chase, in Yorkton.
I'm going to be doing a Performance exam soon, and I was wondering if I could get some information on you as a composer; when you were born, what major accomplishments you've had, ect.

I'm playing your song "Remembering Barcelona", from the "Jazz & Pop, Piano Paradise", volume 2 book.
I think it would be very interesting to hear some input on the intended style of this song from the composer.

Thank-you Very Much,
Travis Nischuk

Dear Fishel,

A sincere thank you for being a part of the 2006 "ALL ABOUT WOMEN" SHOW. We truly appreciate your support during this first year. From our perspective, the overall look of the show was spectacular and that was a direct result of the quality of the exhibits and products in the show. You are to be commended for that and we thank you for all your hard work. Consumers who attended the show were equally impressed .We have received a number of “well done" letters and e-mails from the public who attended the show and were pleased with their experience at the show.

On behalf of all of us who work diligently to make “ALL ABOUT WOMEN” SHOW a major player in the industry, we thank you.

Please join us for the “ALL ABOUT WOMEN”SHOW, May14, 2007

Hi Fishel,
Thank you very much for your information.
It's going to be quite useful.

Well, "Remembering Barcelona" is the first song of yours that i've played, and it is one of my most favorite songs this year! My little finger on my right hand has certainly become stronger from practicing this piece. I used to think the first page was better than the second, but now I like them equally. I believe the style of this piece matches perfectly with my taste in music.

Once again, Thank-you,

Hello Fishel,   We are making some changes to the Summer Sizzle schedule to accommodate a gala celebration [including a banquet] on Monday evening, July 17, to launch our new collections Making Tracks and Northern Lights.  We were hoping that if you could attend that you would premiere your piece "Boogie Train to Palmerston" [from Making Tracks] that evening?  There will be a time for teachers and students to get autographs from composers like yourself, as well as the popular Trade Show and reception.    It will be a great time of celebrating Canadian composers with teachers and students.

Thank you!

Ms. Tenley Dyck, CNCM

Dear Fishel,
I am a piano teacher from Millbank which is not too far from Palmerston.
I met you at a SUmmer Sizzle 2 years ago. My students do performance exams
for CNCM where Debra Wanless is the principal. I know her well and she gave me your email address. One of my students is playing your piece "Cafe Paris" for her exam and we would like to know the story behind this piece. Why you composed it and what you were picturing. Some hints about the importants things to notice in the playing of it would be nice. Her exam is on June the 24th.

Hi Fishel,   I would like you to listen to a few songs i composed a while ago and tell me what you think These songs are not jazz, they are in a style of medieval music I composed them because i was planning to use them in a video game that i'm making.   I would like to hear your opinion about them and maybe give me some advice on how to arrange my own compositions professionally.

Thanks a lot.   Daniel.

Dear Sir I have purchased volumes 2 & 3 of Jazz & Pop Piano Paradise.  On the back covers reads a statement about  Grades3 to 8  pieces contained in the book. I am currently taking my Grade 7  piano and would like to know which pieces(titles) are appropriate for this level. Also, as part of my exam, I need information on the composer, Mr.F. Pustilnik. Any help on these topics would be much appreciated. Thanking you in advance,

Blayze Tkachuk (age 15 )

Dear Fishel,

Aloha!  Many thanks!! I love your music, so are my students!! In fact, six of them are already practicing your pieces to perform at our upcoming June Annual Recital!!  I would have ordered much more books and have much more of my students practicing your pieces if it wasn’t that majority of them have to get their piano exam pieces ready 1st end of May!!  I will do that around July, OK?

Dear Fishel,

Tried to download the picture of you and Oscar but it would only print in black and white and Oscar came out great but you did not show up on the black and white print because you are almost white all over.
would you mind emailing me a picture of yourself that my students can use on their presentation cards? Thanks. Any more bio information would be great as well. Ex Where in Russia you were born, dates (if that is not too private), where you studied and any other little interesting stories. One student is playing "Man of Moods". Is there any story behind the inspiration for this picture and how did you come up with the title?

Hi Fishel

I approached you at Summer Sizzle and wondered if you would mark a few compositions for our local Music Week Festival. This year our theme for the Festival is Ontario composers.  Some students will be performing repertoire from your Piano Paradise Volumes. We are really trying to keep our composition classes at the Festival however this category does not have many participants. October 9 is the registration deadline and I would be better able to give you an exact number of entries after that date.  I'm going to guess and say there might be around 6 entries. They are not advanced students and most if not all compositions will be 12 bars.  Our Festival is Friday November 16, 2007 in Palmerston. We would be grateful if you could do this for us this year, if you have time. Looking forward to hearing from you.   Thank you.

Hi Fishel It looks like I have 18 compositions this year, which is a big surprise as last year we only had 2.  I was hoping to get at least 6.  We are hoping you will still be able to adjudicate the compositions.

Thank you so much for your time, the students are always very excited to have their compositions adjudicated by a Canadian Composer.

Thank you.

April Martin and the teachers of The Palmerston Canada Music Week Festival Committee.

I am playing "A Man of Moods" at my Grade 8 performance exam in June and I was wondering if it would not be too much trouble if you could send me some information about what you are currently doing in music so that I could include that in my write ups!! Thanks so much!! ~*Grace*~

P.S. Man of Moods is an AMAZING song!!!! It is my favourite!!!

Our school brought 66 kids.

4 of us were rewarded with the Maestro award. :) !

I was one of them!!! :D

All thanks to your help, which I am immensely greatful for.

Hello Mr. Pustilnik,

My name is Jonah McAloon and I am 9 years old.  I am learning one of your pieces right now for my piano lessons: "Northern Style".  I had a couple of questions for you about the piece. During the last two measures, should I play the notes in the right hand detached?  Should I slow down at the end and should I get quieter?  Please let me know if there is anything else I should know about the piece?  Is there anyway you can email me a recording of how you think the piece should sound?

Thank you so much.  I really like your piece and I am enjoying learning the piano.

Dear Mr. Pustilnik,
I'm a piano teacher in Richmond Hill, Ontario and have recently discovered your music books and began to use them with my students, and I just wanted to send a quick note to say how much I enjoy them, wonderful bluesy compositions that nicely arranged and just right for my grade 4, 5 students. Thanks very much for your work, I appreciate it.

Dear Fishel,

My name is Simon I really enjoyed your arrangement of "Hotel California" for piano. While I was searching your other pieces, I came upon your arrangements of "Sunrise Sunse"t and "If I was a Rich Man", which I enjoyed very much. I searched for these pieces on your website, but I do know which books they are in or if you sell them separately. Could you please tell me where I can find your arrangements of these pieces including other notes like "Love Story" and "What a Wonderful World?"

I have played many classical and romantic pieces and would like to start to play more jazz and popular music, which is how I found your original compositions. Being an intermediate-advanced pianist, which one of your books would you suggest to get?

I started to play more with my iPad because all my notes are in one place and easy to find. Do you sell your books in soft copy pdf format?
